Sunset in Exuma

Sunset in Exuma was inspired by a quiet moment observed during a visit to the Exuma islands in the Bahamas. As the sun lowered across the horizon, the sea transformed into shifting bands of colour, where warm oranges and reds from the sky reflected across the surface of the water.

Painted in acrylic on wooden board, the work focuses on the movement and rhythm of the ocean. Layered brushstrokes capture the changing light as it breaks across the waves, creating a dialogue between the calm horizon and the restless foreground.
