Looking for a birthday celebration or creative gathering that is a little different?

Bring your guests together for a relaxed, hands-on art experience at my private garden studio in Matraville.

Art parties can be arranged for children or adults. You choose the theme or subject you would like to paint, and I prepare a guided painting experience around your idea.

No previous art experience is needed. I guide everyone through the creative process while encouraging each person to make their artwork their own.

Everyone leaves with their own original canvas to take home.

Party Duration

2.5 hour party  (Recommended)

The 2.5 hour party allows for a more relaxed experience.

Approximately 2 hours are allocated to the art experience, including painting and drying time, followed by 30 minutes for food, cake and celebrating.

This gives guests time to enjoy the creative process without feeling rushed and allows the artwork to have adequate drying time before everyone heads home.

2 hour party

A 2 hour party is also available for groups who prefer a shorter celebration.

Please note that this is a tighter timeframe, particularly when painting, drying time and food or cake are all included.

For this reason, the 2.5-hour option is recommended for the most relaxed experience.

Each guest follows the guided activity while still having the freedom to choose their own colours, details and creative touches.

The aim is not for everyone’s artwork to look identical. It is about creating together, experimenting and enjoying the process.

Your art party includes everything needed for the art experience:

• Private use of the garden studio and garden area
• Guided art activity led by Janice
• Your chosen painting theme
• One canvas per participant
• Paints
• Brushes and art tools
• All art materials
• Tables set up for creating
• Creative guidance throughout the painting session
• Drying space for completed artworks
• Each guest’s finished artwork to take home

There is no separate venue hire charge. The garden studio and garden area are included in the per person price.

 

What do you need to provide?

The party booking covers the art experience. The host is responsible for providing everything else needed for the celebration.

This includes, where required:

• Birthday cake
• Food
• Drinks
• Plates and serving ware
• Cutlery and crockery
• Cups
• Tablecloths
• Decorations
• Balloons
• Birthday candles
• Any other party items not related to the art activity

This keeps the party flexible and allows you to personalise the celebration in whatever way suits your child or group.

 

Canvas Options & Pricing

Minimum booking: 10 participants.
These prices include canvas, all materials, guided instructions and use of the garden studio and garden area.

Canvas Size	Cost per person inclusive of venue hire
20 × 25 cm	$50 per person	A great option for younger children or groups wanting a smaller artwork.
40 × 50 cm	$60 per person	A larger canvas providing more space for painting, detail and creative exploration.

 

 

Party Capacity

The garden studio and garden area can accommodate different combinations of children and adults.  The appropriate arrangement will depend on the size and age of the group, the chosen activity and the weather.  I will discuss the best set-up for tour group when your booking is confirmed.

Art parties are not just for children’s birthdays.

The studio can also be booked for:

• Adult birthday celebrations
• Family celebrations
• Mother and child, father and child or parent and child gatherings
• Creative get-togethers
• Special occasions
• Mixed children and adult groups

Adults are welcome to join the painting activity when the party is primarily for children, provided the group capacity allows.

Additional participants are charged at the applicable per person canvas rate.

 

Set-up and pack away

Your booking includes 30 minutes of set-up time before the party and 30 minutes of pack away time afterwards.

This gives you a total of one hour around the party for setting up and clearing away.

The party itself begins and finishes at the agreed booking times, so please allow for your own food, decorations and other party items to be brought in during the allocated set-up period.

 

Booking & Payment

A $150 non-refundable booking deposit is required to secure your party date.  This confirms that the date and studio space are being held exclusively for your group.

The remaining party fees are payable 14 days before your party date. This allows sufficient time for canvases and other art materials to be purchased and prepared specifically for your group.

 

Guest numbers

Final guest numbers must be confirmed 7 days before the party.

Your final number will determine the balance payable for your party.

If additional guests are requested after the final number has been confirmed, they may be added where the venue capacity allows and will be charged at the applicable per person rate.

Cancellation & Rescheduling

I understand that plans can sometimes change, particularly when children are involved.

The following policy helps protect your booking while allowing some flexibility.

More than 14 days before the party:

If you need to cancel your booking before the 14-day payment deadline, the booking deposit remains non-refundable, as the date has been reserved specifically for your group.

If you need to change your party date, the $150 deposit may be transferred once to another available date, subject to studio availability.

Within 14 days of the party

As the party date has been reserved exclusively for your group and materials may have already been purchased and prepared, payments are non-refundable.

Where possible, I will work with you to find an alternative date, subject to availability.

 

Final guest numbers

Final guest numbers must be confirmed 7 days before the party.

Once the final number has been confirmed, reductions in guest numbers do not result in a refund, as canvases and materials have been purchased and prepared for the confirmed group.

If additional guests are added, they can be accommodated where capacity allows and will be charged at the applicable rate.
