Water Garden

This large-scale abstract work, by Janice Eliovson, is inspired by the lush garden and koi pond just beyond the artist’s studio window. Layers of vibrant colour form a fluid, water-like ground, over which oversized leaf impressions drift and settle. Fine linear gestures echo the delicate structure of banksia leaves, creating contrast between bold form and intricate detail.

The composition moves between stillness and energy. The surface invites the viewer in slowly, revealing depth, rhythm and subtle shifts in colour with time and attention. It is both calming and quietly dynamic.
