Bay of Fire

The Bay of Fire series are artworks developed following a trip to Tasmania by Janice Eliovson, and her family. 

Janice has captured feeling through mark-making and colour in this series, as well as the beautiful raw power of the landscape in an abstracted manner. 

The brightly coloured lichen spreads over each boulder which line the bays in this region and impression a striking view.

The artists focus is engaged by the juxtapose of colour, texture, space and energy.  The contrasts between the gigantic, heavy and textured boulders against the pristine pale sand and an ocean that shifts colour and attitude determined by weather is the interest point of this series.
