Eucalyptus

'Eucalyptus' is an abstract representation of the beautiful eucalypt trees in eastern Australian.  It carries the feeling of stillness and warmth depicted by the gentle yellow tones suggestive of the soft morning light.  Blue represents the vast sky, and grey the mature bark of these trees.   

During spring the native eucalyptus trees shed their outer bark creating magnificent abstract shapes. In time, the thin textured bark peels away to reveal fresh new colours and the smooth young wood beneath.

The subtle almost human form with arms up stretched is symbolic of the interconnected relationship between mankind and nature. The existence of both are dependant on each other.
